Thin-wall and IML projects require more than producing the mold cavity. Buyers should review filling balance, hot-runner configuration, cooling uniformity, expected cycle time, label handling, automation interfaces, and the injection machine that will run the production tool.
How to Choose the Right Injection Mold Company in China
1. Match the Supplier to the Product
Start with the part and business model, not the supplier’s total headcount. A precision gear, medical housing, two-shot handle, automotive grille, and thin-wall food container require different tooling knowledge, equipment, validation, and quality controls.
2. Confirm What Is Actually In-House
Ask which operations are performed by the quoted factory and which are subcontracted. Important items include mold design, CNC, EDM, wire EDM, polishing, texture, heat treatment, mold trials, molding, painting, printing, assembly, and measurement. Subcontracting is not automatically a problem, but ownership and control must be clear.
